Building the Future of Imaging in the Midlands

The Midlands Imaging Training Academy (MITA) was established in 2022 to transform radiology education and workforce development across the Midlands. It represents the largest investment in imaging training in the region for over 20 years and was created to meet the growing demand for diagnostic imaging services.

MITA brings together NHS Trusts, Higher Education Institutions, and regional partners to deliver innovative, high-quality training at scale. Our mission is to equip radiographers, sonographers, radiologists, and radiology support staff with the skills they need to deliver outstanding imaging services across the Midlands.

The online resources on this site have been developed in collaboration with MITA and its regional partners to support and enhance training across the imaging workforce. This platform has been created by and for the Midlands imaging community and is currently accessible only to NHS healthcare professionals working in the region. Content is continuously being updated and expanded, so please check back regularly and get in touch if there are resources or topics you would like to see. Events organised by MITA and its partners are advertised here and can be booked directly through the site.
